Do you want straighter teeth but are conscious that you don’t want to wear traditional metal fixed braces? If the answer is yes, Invisalign clear aligners could be the answer. The Invisalign system consists of a series of clear plastic aligners, tailored to fit your mouth and move your teeth into the correct position. You simply change the aligner approximately every 2 weeks, and this moves the teeth.
Invisalign treatment can help with a whole host of orthodontic issues, including crowding, misalignment, gaps, and incorrect bites. Straightening your teeth has a positive effect on your overall appearance, as bringing teeth into straighter positions enhances your facial shape and structure, as well as making teeth easier to clean. How Invisalign treatment works to discreetly straighten your teeth
Initial consultation
At your initial appointment, we will examine your teeth and take 3D scans and images to ensure your aligners have a precise and accurate fit. We can even use the latest digital technology to show you a preview of how your smile will look following treatment!
Bespoke treatment plan
The scans and images taken of your teeth are used to create your bespoke treatment plan. Using innovative software, we can show you step by step how your teeth will move into position as you wear your aligners.
Straightening process
You will need to wear each aligner in the series for approximately 2 weeks before moving on to the next set. As you wear each aligner in the series, your teeth move until your new smile is created. The aligners control the amount and timing of movement based on your tailored treatment plan, ensuring that each step of the treatment goes according to plan. We keep a close eye on your progress at your orthodontic appointments, making small adjustments if necessary to ensure amazing results.
Get Smiling!
Once you have worn your last aligner, your treatment is complete. You will have every reason to smile with confidence! We will give you a final retainer to keep your teeth in their new positions for the long term.

Caring for your aligners and maintaining your new smile
Keeping your clear aligners in top condition is simple but essential for a smooth journey to a straighter smile! Remember to rinse them with lukewarm water every time you take them out and gently brush them with a soft toothbrush and non-abrasive soap or clear aligner cleaning crystals at least twice a day. Never use hot water as it can warp the plastic and keep them safe in their case when they’re not in your mouth. Also, commit to brushing and flossing your teeth after every meal before putting your aligners back in to prevent trapped food and maintain optimal oral hygiene. By consistently caring for your aligners now, you’re not just ensuring they work effectively, you’re actively protecting the beautiful, confident smile that’s waiting for you!
Frequently asked questions
Most patients are suitable for Invisalign treatment. However, the best idea is to visit us for a consultation. We can assess your needs and will be able to let you know whether Invisalign aligners are your best option or whether an alternative orthodontic treatment would be better.
Invisalign aligners have been designed with comfort in mind, enabling you to easily wear them for up to 22 hours a day. They fit snugly over the teeth and have no metal brackets or wires to irritate the skin. You may feel a dull ache when you initially change over aligners. This can be easily managed with over-the-counter painkillers and is a good sign that the aligners are working effectively and gently moving the position of your teeth.
You may find it takes a few days to get used to the aligners, and you may have a slight lisp at first, but you should be talking clearly and confidently before long. The aligners don’t affect what you can eat as they are removable, so you can keep eating all your favourite foods.
After you finish your Invisalign treatment, you will need to wear a retainer. This is the case after finishing any orthodontic treatment, as the teeth have a way of trying to move back into their old position. Retainer options are removable ones that you can wear overnight, or there are fixed retainers on the inner surface of the teeth. We can chat this through with you at your consultation and discuss which would be best for your needs and lifestyle.
The cost of treatment depends on each individual case, with complex cases needing more aligners and therefore being more expensive. We are able to give you an exact treatment cost based on the examination and assessment we carry out during your initial consultation.
