Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry concerned with the correction of irregularities in tooth and jaw position. Treatment involves using a variety of appliances or braces to move teeth to a better position by applying gentle forces.
As well as enhancing the appearance of teeth, there are a number of other benefits to receiving orthodontic treatment. It can improve eating and speaking ability, as well as encouraging better oral hygiene as teeth become easier to clean in their straighter position.
Orthodontic appliances can be used to successfully to treat a range of issues from crooked, crowded, overly-spaced and twisted teeth to more serious malocclusions (upper and lower teeth not biting together properly) and misalignments.
The dentist will assess individual cases for suitability and assign the correct treatment options for that patient. More complex cases may require a referral to a specialist orthodontist.

Clear aligners – Clear braces offer virtual invisibility so you can keep on smiling throughout treatment. We use the Clear Smile aligner that is designed using innovative 3D technology.
Inman aligners – This removable appliance is a quick and simple alternative to traditional braces and is suitable for treating mild to moderate crowding of the front teeth. It consists of a coil spring and a bar, which work in unison to guide teeth into the required position.
ClearSmile brace – This clear, fixed brace focuses on the front 10 teeth. It uses clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires which are much more discreet than traditional metal braces.
